Blanchard Lions Varsity’s Early Lead Over Norman North Sets Stage For Victory
An early lead helped Blanchard Lions Varsity defeat Norman North 5-3 on Friday. Blanchard Lions Varsity scored on a home run by Callen Golloway, a home run by Bryce Madron, and a single by Payton Miller in the first inning.
After Norman North scored one run in the top of the third, Blanchard Lions Varsity answered with one of their own. Norman North scored when Hollis Huff doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run. Blanchard Lions Varsity then answered when Ty Vanmeter hit a solo homer.
Vanmeter was the winning pitcher for Blanchard Lions Varsity. He surrendered three runs on seven hits over five innings, striking out three and walking one. Colby Reed and Jace Beck entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Beck recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Blanchard Lions Varsity.
