The Lady Lions were led by 3-time Cross Country State Qualifier, Junior Eden Rutledge, who had her strongest State performance yet finishing 17th out of 164 competitors. Next to cross the finish line in her 1st ever State meet was Freshman Kenzie Heeke, who took 20th place overall. Also contributing to a strong team finish was Sophomore Julia Moore in 75th place, Sophomore Lauren Coffman in 76th, Junior Emma Price in 104th, Sophomore Alexis Martin in the 120th spot, and rounding out the Long-distance State Qualifying Cross Country Team was Freshman Abby Price in 128th place.
For 3 years straight, the Long-distance Lady Lions have represented Blanchard in the Cross Country State Championships. Each year, they have improved their showing at State, and this year, having two team members finish in the top 20 is an incredible accomplishment. We are excited to discover how much improvement this team will make next year and have set our sights even higher. Congratulations, ladies on a very successful season!
