The Lady Lions proudly represented Blanchard Track & Field Friday and Saturday in the 4A State Track & Field Meet held in Catoosa. Day 1 began with cloudy skies and cooler temps for Arriah Herrin in High Jump and Lyndey Holding, Leah Wells, Arriah Herrin, and Alexis Martin in the 4x100m Relay. After a mid-day hour-and-a-half weather delay, Eden Rutledge finished the day’s events by running 3200m in a heavy downpour. Saturday brought much better competition conditions for Isabelle Tomlinson in the 100m hurdles, the 4x100m Relay team’s finals, and Alexis Martin in the 200m Dash. These girls have dedicated themselves to their training all spring and have ended the 2019 Track & Field season by accomplishing their goals to compete at State. Graduating only one senior, Leah Wells, who will certainly be missed, this young group is already looking forward to an even stronger presence at State next year. Congratulations on an incredible finish!
