The Lady Lions didn’t waist anytime setting the tone of how the district doubleheader with the Madill Wildcats would go on Tuesday night at The Farm. The Lady Lions got things going in the first inning when Jayme Joyce scored on a wild pitch which was followed by a RBI single from Emylee Campbell. The Lions never looked back as they would go on to run rule the district opponent 10-0 in five innings.
The Lions offense had 14 hits in the first game and were led by Sophomore Grace Minton. Grace went 3 for 3 at the plate with 3 RBIs. Stormy Haynes, Campbell, Carly Craig and Callie all had multiple hits as well and Joyce, Talise Jones, Lyndey Holding and Cheyanne Brown all contributed to the hitting with one hit a piece.
Senior Mak Gray got the win in the circle for the Lions. She went all 5 innings allowing only one hit, walking none and striking out 7. She was backed by great defensive play as the Lions committed zero errors on 9 chances.
