The Blanchard Lions got a much needed victory Friday on the road at McLoud by a final of 34-0. Another strong showing by the Lions’ defense held the Redskins to 132 yards on 45 carries and also forced the Redskins into 4 turnovers. Two interceptions by Whit Carpenter, one by Lincoln Smith and a fumble caused by Hayden Bowles and recovered by Cody Lemons set the tone for the night. Although the offense struggled at times, they seemed to find some comfort in the passing game. With McLoud committed to stopping Bryce Madron inside, the Lions went to the air throwing for 214 yards and 3 passing TD’s. Two TD’s from Colby Langford to Tyler Blackburn and one TD toss from Chase Fox to Bryce Madron. The victory moves the Lions to 2-3 on the season and 1-1 in district play with a tough Tecumseh team coming to town Friday, October 11th for another big 4A-2 district contest. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 at Oscar Brooks Sports Complex.
